Goals for Fall, 2018
I have many goals, some for fall, some for the future. I'll share a few of them here. One goal of mine for fall of 2018 is to finish revising my long-awaited novel! (Not long-awaited by anyone but me, I guess.) Yes, I've written a novel, and it is about 300 pages now. I've had it edited, and proofread, and I must fix some mistakes in order or meaning that the proofreader has found. Some of the fixes are quite challenging, and I have to think how to change some things. After I fix these problems I will submit them to my editor again, and hope (fingers crossed) that it will be published thereafter. I'll share the novel name and the publishing company when this stage has been crossed.
Another goal is to have at least one more academic paper published this fall. I already have one for this year, but I would like at least one more to add to my list. We only have to have one published per year, but I like to challenge more.
Another goal is to take a trip on my motorcycle and go solo camping somewhere, or at least take a day trip during this fall. My wife will be worried because she is afraid I might die, but I really want to challenge it. Will you do it with me? Come on! It would be really fun to go to Aso or Shimabara by big bike, no?
And I would like to try some new food this fall! As you know from my previous post, one thing that I love (and most people, too, I think) is fooooood! I love food and eating, so it's always my goal to try new food and to munch on the food I love. This includes: roast chicken, steak, mashed potatoes, seafood, burgers, tonkatsu, ramen, soba, fried rice, tofu, and more.
Well, that's it for my goals for this fall. You have goals, too, I'm sure. There's only one thing we can do - try to accomplish what we want to do in life! Not what we SHOULD do, but what we WANT to do. Don't lose sight of this difference. Cheers.

Self Introduction
Hey there, people out there!! I'm Jeff! One of the best things in life is eating! I love food, and I love trying many different kinds of dishes. In fact, I went to Kyrgyzstan in early September and I tried many interesting foods there, such as Shashlik, Manty, and Plov. Then I went to Taiwan later in September, and tried many wonderful foods there, such as Xaio Long Bao, Gua Bao, and He Zai Jian. I also love cooking. I can cook green curry, pork chops with apple sauce, pasta with meat sauce, tacos, and more. During this weekend I had to cook because my wife has a leg problem now and cannot walk well. My son loved my green curry on Saturday night, and my wife loved my pork chops on Sunday night. I got several compliments, so I was on top of the world! If you haven't tried many kinds of food, please do. It truly can open your eyes.
By the same token, cooking is a great hobby. Of course we all must cook to eat, and we have to eat to live. To treat ourselves to our own home-cooked meal, made with our own hands, from an idea in our own minds, and to bring it to fruition on the plate is definitely an inspirational act.
